Real-Time Data Receivers

Introduction

The DVB1000LAN DVB-IP Data Receiver is a device that decodes DVB-IP data from a satellite signal and outputs the IP data in Multicast mode directly on a Local Area (LAN) or Ethernet Network with up to 100 Mbit/s.

Benefits

PC's do have more and more standard Ethernet connectivity. In case of satellite reception, often an antenna cable needs to be placed to connect the LNB with the satellite receiver in the PC. With the DVB1000LAN device, the need of antenna cable can be reduced. By placing the DVB1000LAN nearby the satellite dish, it is enough to connect the unit with a standard UTP cable to the nearest Ethernet outlet. From that moment on, the satellite receiver can be controlled by any PC connected to the same network and ... every PC has immediate access to the same data.

With Wireless Ethernet, it is even possible to eliminate completely the need of additional cables and this offers also the possibility to reduce the present network load.

Some Satellite Operators do offer free to air, popular news and financial TV channels in MPEG4 streaming format. With the DVB1000LAN, these channels are directly inserted on the Ethernet network. Every connected PC can view instantaneously these TV channels in a Window, with the standard installed Media Player.
